Nigerians expect military to perform magic – CDS

Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, says people always expect the military to perform magic.

The CDS added that the military is aware of the citizens’ expectations as well as the security situations across the country.

Musa stated this during a visit by the Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago to his office in Abuja on Tuesday.

In a statement signed by Group Captain OO Ademosu, on behalf of the Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, the Defence Chief, said, the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain strong, committed and steadfast in the discharge of its constitutional mandates.

The statement read, “Musa while welcoming the governor and his team also congratulates the governor on his election victory. The CDS said although the AFN is fully aware of the situation on the ground, he noted that people always expect the Military to perform magic.

“According to the Defence Chief, the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain strong, committed and steadfast in the discharge of its constitutional mandates. “
Musa added that the AFN needs to support Niger State in order to attract meaningful development.

He also acknowledged the support of the state government towards the military and assured the governor of the AFN’s readiness to assist Niger State.

Niger State governor on his part, noted that the state has the largest land mass in Nigeria.

He added that the state is very close to Abuja, noting that the proximity to the capital city, calls for security concerns.
