NDLEA arrests four ‘party agents’ with ATM cards in Ogun

National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Ogun State has arrested four party agents in the Ibara axis of the state with hundreds of credit cards apparently meant for vote buying.

NDLEA announced the arrest of the four suspects in a statement on Saturday.

But it did not mention the name of the political party to which the arrested party agents belong.

But one of the agents was said to be wearing an identity card branded “PDP”.

NDLEA Chairman, Gen Buba Marwa (rtd), has directed that the suspects be handed over to the police after proper documentation.

The agency’s statement read, “Operatives of NDLEA on election duty stop and search, just intercepted four party agents with hundreds of money credit cards, to buy votes at Ibara housing estate, Ogun state.

“Each card contains 10k and activated to cash with a code.”

During the presidential and National Assembly elections conducted recently, security operatives intensified the fight against vote buying.

A number of suspected vote buyers were arrested across the country during the elections.
