This declaration comes in the wake of a solemn ceremony where the military buried the 17 slain soldiers, attended by President Bola Tinubu, governors, federal lawmakers, and other dignitaries.

President Tinubu, in his address at the event, pledged support for the families of the victims, announcing scholarships for their children, including those yet unborn. He also posthumously conferred national awards on the fallen soldiers, honoring their bravery and sacrifice.

Echoing President Tinubu’s sentiments, Chief of Army Staff Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja assured the families of the fallen heroes of continued support, acknowledging the additional burden placed on them by the tragic incident.

In a resolute stance against the perpetrators of the violence, Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa vowed to hunt them down and ensure justice is served. He emphasized that such acts of violence would not deter the military from restoring peace and security across the nation.
