The objective of a week-long internal digital training organised for some staff of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State, in September, 2021, has started yielding fruits.

Tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund) in its 2016/2018 (merged) ICT support intervention, had sponsored 60 beneficiaries cutting across teaching and non-teaching staff of the Polytechnic.

Interestingly, one of the participants, Engr. Joseph Odiete from the Computer Science Department attempted and completed all 15 modules, in compliance with the objective of the training.

He passed all the levels of the examination above 90 percent, ranging from the elementary, intermediate to advance categories within seven days.

It is now on record that MAPOLY is one of the few institutions that has successfully produced certified members of the International Certification for Digital Literacy (ICDL) in Nigeria.

Similarly, about 15 other participants have completed more than 10 modules, while others are also proving promising efforts to leverage their strength in fulfilling the requirements of the training.

By this development, the Tetfund IT partnering firm, Ampersand Development Partners, has presented a cheque of N50,000 only to Engr. Odiete, in fulfilment of the pledge made by its Managing Director, Engr. Olaniyi Wahab, during the training to three best participants to complete the modules.

Meanwhile, Acting Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, while commending Engr. Odiete confirmed that competent manpower and resources are the strength of the institution, which had just been revealed.

He challenged other participants to emulate or perhaps, surpass his feat.
