Manager, head of security, 30 others missing in Edo train station attack

Thirty-two persons, including the station manager, Godwin Okpe; head of security, Ikhayere and the ticket clerk are among those missing in the Edo State train station attack.

A resident, Victor Osarobho, is also among the 32 missing persons.

They were abducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday by suspected herdsmen at Ekehen-Igueben train station in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State.

One of the victims managed to escape from the hands of the abductors, who were armed with AK-47 rifles and were shooting into the air.

A suspect was later arrested by policemen.

Some of the abductors came in vehicles, while others got to the train station through bush paths.

Edo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Chidi Nwabuzor, a Superintendent of Police (SP), said the abducted passengers were to travel to Warri in Delta State by train, while many persons at the station sustained bullet wounds.

Rescue operations are ongoing.
