A Water Engineering company known for Constructing dams, canals and Water ways, Havage Engineering Services Ltd is accused of criminal offences against the managements of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi and the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority (UBRBDA) Yola.
Havage Engineering Services Ltd will soon run into legal battles over allegations of corruption and criminal conspiracies with a public interest lawyer, P M Shagnah Esq, who is set to drag them to court for forging the documents of the Department of Civil Engineering Structures Laboratory (concrete cube test result) of ATBU in an effort to defraud UBRBDA.
Barr Shagnah granted an interview with our Abuja correspondent said the Engineering company has grossly committed a criminal offense that their operational license be seized and barned because they have fallen below standard of operations.
According to him, for an organization to go that far in forging a document of a federal institution is a serious crime that security agencies must sparkle their search light of investigation in order to nib to the bud their nefarious activities.
As a public interest advocate who has done a due deligence on the activities of Havage Engineering Services Ltd over the years, Shagnah said since 2021 the company was fingered Engr. Charles Imoru its Northeast Director, coordinating the activities of the construction of the Chanchnagi Dam and water supply in the Takum local government area of Taraba State, alleged that he forged the ATBU document without the prior knowledge of the institution and go about presenting them for payment.
The Human right Lawyer vowed to institute a criminal case against the company and its owner, Engr. Danladi Ebbah who have allowed his organization to fall Short of public thrust and failed woefully to pass the integrity test of a grounded construction company serving the interest of the Nigerian masses.
He said what Havage Engineering Services Ltd done is a crime against Nigerian government, against the general public and the managements of ATBU and UBRBDA and he cannot wait to see them Scot free from their dubious character.
He stressed that all construction work under their care and supervision be withdrawn as they have gone below ethics and standard of operations with their morals under serious question mark.
Shagnah who was Adamawa Former All Progressives Congress (APC) legal adviser called on Nigerian society of engineers (NSE)and The council for the regulation of engineering practice of Nigeria (COREN) to withdraw certificate of practice from Charles because it’s dampening the images of the two Engineering bodies.
“I will certainly approach a Court of competent jurisdiction to challenge their actions of forging a document of ATBU in an attempt to defraud UBRBDA. This is to let you know that the company through their management has a character problem, this is to also give you an idea of the kind of jobs they have been doing for the sake of the public. I’m sure, if they can behave this payment by all means, it’s therefore means that all the work they claimed they did well were not properly done and they want to get paid by all means.
“I’m calling on the general public, especially communities and organizations who they know this company have done one or More construction work to go and revisit all they have done across the country to ensure it’s done within terms and conditions meeting up the prescribed specifications.
“We will soon meet in court to ask Why the company level of corruption has derailed to this extend and to also ask why ATBU could not take them to court to seek for redress despite discovering the company have Forged an official document of the organization.” Shagnah said
