Keyamo speaks on Clark’s rejection of Tinubu to endorse Peter Obi

According to Festus Keyamo, spokesman for the All Progressives Congress’ 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, elder statesman Edwin Clark has never endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) for President since 2015, despite the fact that the party was successful.

Clark, the leader of Pan-Niger Delta Forum, recently rejected the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and other presidential candidates to endorse Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).

Clark praised Obi for his candor, reliability, and openness while serving as the governor of Anambra State, adding that he is the right man to be the next president.

If elected President, he asked Obi to address the concerns of injustice and environmental devastation in the Niger Delta.

Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president, and Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, both supported Obi for president.

In his response to Clark’s endorsement, Keyamo scorned Clark’s support for Obi, claiming that it had no bearing on the fact that Atiku Abubakar, who the elder statesman supported in 2019, lost the election.

“Same thing I said for OBJ that applies to my respected father, Edwin Clark. These are elders who endorsed Atiku Abubakar in 2019. The votes they gave Atiku in 2019, they have carried those votes to Obi. My father, Edwin Clark HAS NEVER SUPPORTED APC for the Presidency since 2015,” he wrote in a tweet on his Twitter handle.
