Kate Henshaw criticizes Tinubu’s govt for reintroducing old national anthem

Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has criticized the current administration’s decision to reinstate the old national anthem.

She specifically questioned the timing of this change, asking how reverting to the old anthem would address the severe hardships the country is facing.

The role interpreter lamented the “excoriating hardship and lack of good governance on every level” that the nation is experiencing.

Via her X account she wrote: “In the midst of excoriating hardship & lack of good governance on every level but not to worry, going back to a colonial anthem will be a soothing balm and inject patriotism back into our veins, a much needed drug.”

Also in another post, she wrote “The labour of our heroes past… o ti lo (is gone).”

Recall that the President Bola Tinubu on the 29th of May, 2024, signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law to reinstate the old anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.”
