Insecurity: el-Rufai restores telecommunication networks in Kaduna

Governor Nasir el-Rufai-led government has announced the restoration of telecommunication networks in parts of Kaduna State which were shut down since the beginning of October.

The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan made this known to newsmen in Kaduna on Friday.

He said that “security agencies have notified the government that telecom services can be restored.”

The government had shut down telecoms networks in the state as part of efforts to control banditry and other insecurity issues in the state.

According to Aruwan, the shutdown of the telecommunication network recorded a lot of success. He promised residents in the state that restoration of full services would be felt over the next few days.

“The Kaduna government regrets inconveniences that residents may have passed through,” he added.

Aruwan, meanwhile, said that measures like the prohibition of movement of motorcycles all over the state, sale of fuel in Jerry cans, weekly markets, and others in some local government areas remain in place.
