‘Illegal buildings will go down’, new FCT Minister, Wike says as he assumes office

On Monday, Mr Nyesom Wike, the newly sworn-in Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, swore to pull down illegal buildings in the FCT.

This came as he vowed to restore the city’s master plan during his maiden news conference.

According to the former Rivers State governor, land allottees who had received Certificates of Occupancy but failed to develop would also lose their lands to allow those ready to build access to those lands.

“If you know you have built where you are not supposed to build, it will go down”, Wike said.
