Nigerians have resorted to social media to denounce Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, better known as Iyanya, a popular Afro Pop musician, for forcefully pushing a fan, spraying him with money in Akwa, Anambra State, off the stage.
Fans were outraged by a social media video that showed the singer pushing a man fan who was dousing him in cash off stage and continuing to perform.
In response to the push to the harsh criticisms, Iyanya said in a tweet on his Twitter account that the fan was hitting his face with the money.
“The guy kept slapping my face with the money, and I tried to hold his hand, and he continued. First, no matter how much you are spraying, don’t slap someone with it, that’s disrespectful,” he wrote.
