Don Jazzy thanks Wizkid for supporting Ayra Starr’s new album

Popular Nigerian music executive Michael Collins Ajereh, better known as Don Jazzy, and singer Wizkid have dispelled any rumors of a rift following their recent social media dispute.

Don Jazzy publicly expressed his appreciation for Wizkid after he endorsed Ayra Starr’s sophomore album, ‘The Year I Turned 21,’ on his X account after its release on the 31st of May, 2024.

Wizkid shared the album cover and streaming link, writing: “Superstar”

Don Jazzy reposted Wizkid’s tweet, captioning it: “Thanks, Big Wiz.”

It could be recalled that Wizkid took a dig at Don Jazzy after Ladipoe, a signee of Don Jazzy’s label, appeared to mock Wizkid in a post for claiming that “hip hop is dead.”

However, a fan brought the post to Wizkid’s attention, and he responded, “Lol, never chatting with anyone signed to an influencer. Next.”

Also, the father of four further fueled the controversy by retweeting two tweets suggesting that he was referring to Don Jazzy as an influencer.

This subtle jab at Don Jazzy caused an uproar on social media, with numerous celebrities, including skit makers Mr. Macaroni and Nasboi, as well as reality stars Doyin and Tacha, criticizing Wizkid for his “disrespect.”

However, in response to that, Don Jazzy unfollowed Wizkid on Instagram.
