Chelsea have agreed to sign Argentine World cup winner Enzo Fernandez, for £105m, a British record transfer deal, from Portuguese club side Benfica.
The North London side were earlier in Portugal on Tuesday to carry out a possible medical for the midfield player pending if the deal between the both clubs pull through before the transfer window closes on deadline day.
The 22-year-old, had only played one season for Benfica, during which time he played 27 matches and scored four goals.
In the current season, Fernandez has scored 15 goals, for the club and country; one goal for country, 14 club goals and 12 assists. He played 6396 minutes with 53 starts.
