…says some Nigerians can barely have a daily meal

Ben Ogbemudia, Abuja

Senator Pam Dachungyang representing Plateau North in the National Assembly on Wednesday pleaded with Nigerians to be patient with the Tinubu-led administration inspite of its harsh economic policies.

Speaking at an event marking Eid el fitr in Abuja, the lawmaker said, “We should remember that our country is passing through a lot.

“Let’s support government. Things have gone so bad. Many cannot have three meals a day.

“Some can barely have a meal a day. But they’re still living. We still ask for love.

“I urge every Nigerian to be patient. Let’s support government. Pray, don’t be in a hurry and God will answer our prayers.”

The senator called on Nigerians to support his party, the Action Democratic Party (ADP), saying it holds greater good for the country.

“ADP is a great party and we should support it,” he added.

He congratulated Muslims for fasting through the month of Ramadan saying, “It’s necessary to be in self-denial to serve God.

“We’ve ended the period of fasting and entered festivity. God should search our hearts and bless us.”

Speaking earlier, the National Chairman of ADP, Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani felicitated with Nigerians as they celebrated Sallah.

Sani said, “As we gather here today, I am filled with immense joy and gratitude to address you on this auspicious occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

“On behalf of our great party Action Democratic Party – ADP, I extend the warmest greetings to each and every one of you, as well as to the public who join us in spirit during this time of celebration.

“Eid el fitr marks the culmination of Ramadan, a month of fasting, reflection, and community.

“It’s a time when we come together to celebrate the strength, patience, and resilience that we have shown.

“It’s a moment to cherish the bonds of kinship and friendship that we have fortified.

“To our esteemed members and the wider community, I say, Eid Mubarak!

“May this day of festivity be a beacon of light, illuminating the path towards unity, compassion, and mutual respect.

“May it be an opportunity for us to renew our commitment to our shared values and to the betterment of society as a whole.

“As we indulge in the festivities, let us not forget the less fortunate among us.

“Let this Eid be a reminder of our duty to extend a hand of support and to contribute positively to the lives of others.

“May the lessons learned during Ramadan continue to guide us throughout the year.”

The National Youth Leader of ADP, Mr Chinazam Ike called on the youth of Nigeria to reflect on the virtue of love, equity, patriotism, peace and service to fatherland for the good of the country.

The event hosted by the national chairman of ADP was attended by the party’s National Auditor and Vice Presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Dr Okey Udo; Women Leader North, Mrs Olubunmi Okiti, first female governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Erelu Kemi Elebute-Halle; governorship aspirant in the coming Ondo State election, Hon Ayodeji Akinnodi; and other party stalwarts.
