In a harrowing incident, bandits have claimed the lives of at least 23 individuals in a ruthless attack on the Anguwar Danko community near Dogon Dawa district in the Eastern part of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Although official confirmation is pending from Kaduna State police authorities, a chilling account provided by community leader Zubairu Abdulrahuf reveals the horrifying details of the assault.

Abdulrahuf recounted that a horde of bandits descended upon the community on Wednesday night, unleashing terror as they indiscriminately fired upon residents.

The onslaught left over 20 individuals fatally wounded, with five others sustaining gunshot injuries of varying severity.

Additionally, several community members remain unaccounted for in the aftermath of the attack, heightening concerns about the extent of the tragedy and the fate of those still missing.

The assault underscores the persistent threat posed by banditry in Kaduna State, where communities continue to endure the devastating impact of such brazen acts of violence.

As authorities work to ascertain the full scope of the attack and provide support to affected families, the incident serves as a grim reminder of the urgent need for enhanced security measures to safeguard vulnerable communities from the scourge of banditry.
