Bandits attack Kaduna villages, kill over 20, destroy properties

Bandits’ attacks on some villages within the Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State have left more than 20 persons dead.

The fresh attacks, FirstNews gathered, occurred Saturday and Sunday morning, as the terrorists stormed the villages shooting sporadically.

The state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the attacks, listed the affected villages as Kauran Fawa, Marke, and Riheya.

According to Aruwan, the bandits burnt several houses, trucks, and cars along with agricultural produce at various farms.

He said that security operatives had been deployed to sustain patrols in the general area.

Meanwhile, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has expressed regrets over the attack and directed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency to conduct an urgent assessment of the area in order to provide relief to the victims.
