Popular Nigerian Singer, Seun Kuti has disclosed that his late father, the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti, had more than 100 concubines in addition to his 27 wives, a fact not widely known.
The father of one revealed this during an episode of the ‘Bahd & Boujee’ Podcast, co-hosted by reality star Tolanibaj and actress Moet Abebe.
“People only know of Fela’s 27 wives, they don’t know of his over 100 girlfriends that lived with us in the house,” he said.
Recall that Seun Kuti disclosed that his late father, Fela, wedded 27 women simultaneously to safeguard their honor and dignity, as the media was unjustly labeling his female dancers and band members living with him as “prostitutes”
Fela’s decision to marry 27 women in 1978 was regarded as a bold and unconventional action.
