Actor Chiwetalu Agu slams FG over national anthem change

Legendary Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has criticized the Federal Government for changing the national anthem, calling it a misplaced priority.

In a video shared by Voice of the East on X, the role interpreter questioned how altering the anthem would help lower the high prices of food items in the market.

In the video, the actor first sang the previous national anthem, then the new one, and afterward commented, “This is what is called misplacement of priorities. Change of national anthem, what has it got to do with increase in price of rice, a litre of fuel, a bag of garri, a tuber of yam?”

“National anthem is now a palliative, Nigeria na better cruise. The small national anthem we dey manage, e reach your turn, you change am, why?” He said.

Agu questioned why the government focused on changing the national anthem when people were dying.

“Are we going to eat the national anthem?”, he asked.
