Oromoni: Police arrest three Dowen College students as investigation begins

Police operatives in Lagos State have reportedly arrested three students of Dowen College, Lekki, in connection with the death of late Sylvester Oromoni.

The arrested students have remained in police custody for questioning on their alleged involvement in Sylvester’s death.

FirstNews gathered that three students had been picked by the law enforcement agency to listen to their own side of the story.

They were said to be cooperating with the police to unravel those that inflicted injuries on the deceased teenager.

The late student had mentioned the names of five senior students that bullied him, while in the throes of death.

The names include children of high-profile Nigerians whose identities are still under wraps, it was gathered.

Our correspondent gathered that the students were invited by the Divisional Police Officer of Maroko Police Station and were said to have later been taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba for questioning over Sylvester’s death.

Sources hinted that the students had been held in police custody until investigations are concluded.

Meanwhile,  Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, on Tuesday said the students were currently assisting the police to identify people involved in the case.

The police boss hinted that the Command, in collaboration with the Delta Command, was set to conduct a post-mortem examination on Sylvester’s body in Delta State, to ascertain the cause of his death.
