Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, the Chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee, has finally acceded to the demands of the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria (JDWAN) members who are on strike over alleged extortion of its members.
In light of this, JDWAN leaders have decided to end the strike they began last week in order to reestablish communication and collaboration with the representatives of the Lagos State Government, who are represented by the state Parks and Gardens Management, headed by Oluomo.
The state’s Secretariat of the Parks and Gardens in Agege Local Government Area hosted the peace gathering on Monday. While Mr. Abiodun Akintade oversaw JDWAN union, MC Oluomo presided over the park management committee.
Ibile Drivers Stakeholders Association of Nigeria, DSWAN, Federal Assisted Mass Transit Incorporation, FAMTI, Owners, Drivers and Conductors Association, ODCA, Commercial Bus Drivers and Owners Operators of Lagos, CBDOP, Mini Bus Drivers Welfare Association, MNDWA are additional affiliated members of JDWAN.
Ojo, Ikorodu, and Badagry Local Government Locations in the state were the main areas affected by the strike action.
