Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has explained why its operatives stormed the ongoing presidential primary elections of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party in Abuja
The event is currently holding at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abuja.
The EFCC said it deployed its operatives in the venue of the PDP presidential primary elections to check the inducement of delegates and monitor financial malpractices by the various aspirants.
There had been reports of alleged vote buying and bribing of delegates at the venue of the convention.
Spokesperson of the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwujaren, said EFCC operatives were at the PDP convention venue to monitor the exercise and check inducement of delegates and other corrupt practices.
