The governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, on Wednesday won the Peoples Democratic Party ticket to contest for the state governorship election for the second term.
Information gathered by FirstNews is that Makinde polled a total of 1,040 delegates votes to defeat his rival, Mr Hazeem Gbolarunmi, who secured two votes in the primary held at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Announcing the result, the returning officer, Ben Obi, represented by Abdullahi Mai Basia, said Makinde emerged as the PDP governorship candidate for Oyo State having polled the highest number of valid votes.
A total of six votes were void out of the total votes of 1,048 cast.
