The just elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, has appealed to Nigerians to keep supporting the ruling party, assuring that APC will deliver more dividends of democracy if the electorate vote for the party in the next poll.
APC’s new National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, made the promise in his acceptance speech after emerging as the party’s new chairman at Eagle Square on Sunday.
He said, “APC is set to do much more when Nigerians continue to bestow on us their love, their support, and confidence in the next general elections.
“Together, let us rise and march towards the sunrise in our party and in our country.”
Senator Adamu, a former governor of Nasarawa State said regardless of the challenges that confronted the APC in the wake of taking power in 2015, President Muhammadu Buhari’s government has done great.
The new chairman said his leadership would start moves to reconcile aggrieved members of the party.
He said, “The time has come for us to show statesmanship to arrive at the new dawn. The time has come for us to be patriotic in words and deeds.
“The time has come for us to affirm and build the people of the people, for the people and by the people.”
Adamu, President Buhari’s anointed candidate for the APC’s chairmanship position, emerged through consensus after all the other aspirants stepped down for him.
