A former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has described as fake, the claim that Twitter accepted some conditions handed to it by the Federal Government before its ban in Nigeria was lifted.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, had after lifting the ban on Twitter was announced wrote on his Twitter handle, “For those who prioritized politics over patriotism and exhibited disingenuous righteousness on Twitter suspension, they can now see that with all the FG conditions to which Twitter agreed, Nigeria is eventually better off for it.”
But Omokri, a fierce critic of President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration, said that the claim that the social media platform agreed to any condition by the Nigerian government is as fake as Buhari’s integrity.”
He wrote on his verified twitter handle, “The claim that Twitter agreed to allow Buhari’s junta regulate Twitter users in Nigeria is as fake as Buhari’s integrity. The expectation that Twitter would move from Ghana to Nigeria will NEVER happen. Twitter did not beg. Buhari bulged because elections are here!”
