Italian Serie A club side, Fiorentina has terminated the contract of former Napoli manager, Geranno Gattuso. The termination came exactly three weeks after appointing him as the club’s new manager for next season’s campaign.
This is following the disagreement of both Fiorentina and the former world cup winner on the basis of player’s integration into the team.
Gattuso was said to have clashed with those above him when it comes to potential targets for the summer window, as he requested that more ready-made stars are drafted into his ranks.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina is reportedly looking to favour a frugal approach, with the value being sought in youthful additions that boast long-term promise.
But unfortunately, the club had to part ways with the former Italian international as the in-house argument could not be settled.
A statement by the club on its official website reads: “ACF Fiorentina and Mister Rino Gattuso, by mutual agreement, have decided not to follow up on the previous agreements and therefore not to start the next football season together.
“The company immediately set to work to identify a technical choice that will guide the Viola team towards the results that Fiorentina and the City of Florence deserve.”
