Former Speaker, House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, will on Friday, formally wed Miss Aisha Mohammed Saidu, the daughter of Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu.
Bankole, who was the governorship candidate of Action Democratic Party in Ogun State had divorced his first wife in 2017, it was gathered.
But four years after, Bankole has almost perfected plans to tie the nuptial knot with Miss Aisha Mohammed Saidu, on Friday, in Abuja.
The bride, it was further gathered, is a graduate of the University of Hull in the United Kingdom and a lawyer.
A family source told our correspondent that Friday’s solemnisation ceremony will climax the courtship and earlier introduction ceremony between Bankole and Aisha.
He said Sokoto State Governor, who is Bankole’s successor as Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, led the groom’s family to the bride’s family home to seek her hand in marriage during an introduction ceremony.
An invitation card obtained by our correspondent on Tuesday in Abeokuta showed that the ceremony will hold between Thursday and Friday in Abuja.
The family, however, mandated guests attending the wedding to wear a face mask in compliance with COVID-19 safety measures.
