…as Diri pays unscheduled visit to infectious diseases hospital
Bayelsa State Government has informed residents of the state that it has not constituted a task force on street trading.In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Bayelsa State Governor, Mr Daniel Alabrah, the government said it had been brought to its knowledge that some individuals had been parading themselves as chairman and members of an illegal task force on street trading.The government, therefore, warned anyone parading himself as chairman or themselves as members of such a task force to desist forthwith.In another development, Governor Douye Diri has paid an unscheduled visit to construction site of Infectious Diseases Hospital in Igbogene, Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.The governor made a stop-over at the hospital under construction by the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) facilitated by the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources.The project was commenced in May this year and workers were seen completing the foundation with “German flooring”.Diri said he wanted to be sure work was going on and that he was pleased with the progress, saying, “The engineer on site has assured him of completion in six months’ time.”The emergency and infectious diseases hospital with 18 months completion period is to serve the people of Bayelsa State and the entire South South region.
