Chairman of Katsina State Football Association, Alh. Aminu Balele Kurfi, has urged relevant stakeholders to support the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The 2020/2021 NPFL season kicked off on Sunday with six games played across various stadia.
Kurfi who was among top dignitaries in the game between Jigawa Golden Stars and Sunshine Stars at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna made a donation of N1.5 million each to both teams and took a group photograph in the spirit of FIFA fair play.
He further praised the efforts of the League Management Company (LMC) and all the Football stakeholders across the country for the successful kick off of the Nigeria domestic league. The philanthropist who is also a member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical and Development committee gave kudos to players of the two teams for their high level of discipline, maturity and good display of soccer artistry.
Jigawa Golden Stars defeated Sunshine Stars by a lone goal to begin the new season on a winning note.
