2023: Peter Obi is a Nollywood actor, he’s going nowhere —El-Rufai

The Labour Party’s Peter Obi has been referred to as a Nollywood actor by the governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai.

El-Rufai claims that the contest to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari is between Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He asserted that Obi lacks the political clout necessary to win the two-thirds majority of votes required nationwide in the presidential election scheduled on February 25.

El-Rufai stressed that the former governor of Anambra State will not fare well in the 2019 election when he made these claims on Thursday during Journalists’ Hangout on TVC.

El-Rufai said, “How can Peter Obi win any election? Peter Obi is doing 1 per cent in Sokoto, Kano etc. And these are the places the voters are.

“The fact that you do 70 per cent in Anambra does not mean you are better than someone with 10 per cent in Kano where you have about 4 million voters.”

According to the Kaduna State governor, surveys by the APC showes that the election would be tight but Tinubu was ahead.

“Peter Obi is a Nollywood actor and that is what he will be. He will not get anywhere. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has support across Nigeria. By the grace of God we are going to win,” El-Rufai said.
