Eleven commissioners in Sokoto State cabinet of Governor Tambuwal have dumped the ruling Peoples Democratic Party for the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The development was sequel to the resignation of the state’s Deputy Governor, Manir Muhammad Dan Iya, from the main opposition party.
The deputy governor made the disclosure in a letter directed to the PDP Ward Chairman of the Kware Ward, Kware Local Government Area of the State.
Reports of the defection became public a few hours before the presidential campaign rally of the ruling APC.
APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, are expected to land in the state for the campaign rally on Thursday.
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to receive the defectors into the party during the rally.
