Both former governors Nyesom Wike and former Aminu Tambuwal, on Tuesday, lost out in the battle of wits between them for the leadership of the minority caucus of the Senate.
While Wike held a series of meetings with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, making case for a particular senator, Tambuwal declares his interest in the minority leadership position.
However, on Tuesday, Akpabio announced the new leaders of the minority caucus.
Senator Simon Davou Mwadkwon (PDP, Plateau) was named the Minority leader.
Senator Oyewumi Olalere (PDP, Osun) emerged the Deputy Minority leader
Abia Labour Party’s Senator Darlington Nwokocha, emerged Minority Whip
Kano NNPP’s Rufai Hanga became Deputy Minority Whip
