Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of aviation and a member of the governing All Progressives Congress’ (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, claimed that Akin Osuntokun, the new Director General of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, had joined the losing team.
On Tuesday, he made this claim in a statement posted on his verified Twitter account.
Fani-Kayode said, “Congrats to my brother Bashorun Akin Osuntokun on his appointment as DG of the Obi/Dati PCC. I respect Akin & we have fought many battles shoulder-to-shoulder against our common foes for over 30 years. He has joined the losing side but he will be a formidable adversary.
“..look forward to joining issues, crossing swords and meeting my brother in the field of battle.
“Peter the Pooh and Dati the Daft have absolutely NO chance of winning this election even with a tough and courageous soul and brilliant mind like Akin leading their campaign.”
Tuesday saw the appointment of Osuntokun, a longtime political adviser to Olusegun Obasanjo, as the new director general of the Labour Party’s presidential campaign.
Osintokun’s selection was announced by the party’s national chairman, Julious Abure, who stated the choice was made after extensive deliberation with all party stakeholders.
Remember that Okupe just resigned from his position as Director General of the party’s campaign organization as a result of a Federal High Court decision finding him guilty of breaking the Money Laundering Act.
