Ondo Gov to Implement ₦73,000 Minimum Wage in November

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has assured civil servants that the new minimum wage of ₦73,000 will be implemented beginning this November, underscoring his administration’s commitment to the welfare of public sector employees.

Speaking to a gathering of civil servants in Akure, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized that supporting the state’s workforce remains a top priority.

“Anything we have done for civil servants has never been politically driven. If workers are not happy, they won’t be encouraged to put in maximum efforts into their work. That is why we have always prioritised their welfare,” he stated.

The governor also revealed that the committee appointed to design the implementation framework for the minimum wage increase has completed its report, and he is prepared to authorize the necessary approvals to ensure timely payment.

As he approaches the November 16 governorship election, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in surpassing his current achievements if re-elected, promising even greater advancements for the civil service and the state at large.

Ondo State Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philips, lauded the governor’s dedication, commending his efforts to create a conducive environment for civil servants.

“The governor has consistently shown a genuine interest in the welfare of our state’s workforce, which has significantly boosted morale across the board,” Philips said.
