World’s Oldest Man, John Tinniswood, Passes Away at 112

Guinness World Records has announced the passing of John Alfred Tinniswood, the world’s oldest man, at the age of 112. He died peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the Hollies Care Home in Southport, England, where he had been residing.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Guinness World Records expressed its sadness, confirming that John’s family had shared the news of his death. The family added that his final day was filled with music and surrounded by love.

“John always liked to say thank you,” his family said, expressing gratitude for the care he received from staff at the care home and various healthcare professionals over the years.

Born on August 26, 1912, to Ada and John Bernard Tinniswood, John lived a full life, marrying his late wife Blodwen and raising a daughter, Susan.

A lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC, John was recognized globally in April 2024 when he was named the world’s oldest living man by Guinness World Records, following the death of Juan Vicente Pérez Mora at 114.

John’s family, which includes his daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, shared their sorrow at his passing, remembering him as a man surrounded by love throughout his remarkable life.
