Workday Woes: Millions hit as Microsoft 365 crashes

Microsoft has confirmed that access to its Microsoft 365 suite has been limited, with some users only able to access the services in read-only mode.

The tech giant is actively working to resolve the issue, which it acknowledged in a social media post on X, stating, “Our services are still seeing continuous improvements while we continue to take mitigation actions.”

In a notice titled “Service Degradation,” Microsoft informed users that they “may be unable to access various Microsoft 365 apps and services.”

The company assured that it remains committed to treating the situation with the highest priority and urgency to address the lingering impact.

The announcement coincided with a significant IT outage in Australia, affecting the national broadcaster, the country’s largest international airport, and a major telecommunications company.

Australia’s National Cyber Security Coordinator attributed the disruption to a problem with a “third-party software platform.”

As the situation evolves, Microsoft continues its efforts to fully restore the affected services. Users are advised to stay tuned for further updates from the company.
