Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known popularly as Wizkid has been rated Africa’s heritage and biggest music export by Shizem.
Shizem is a Nigerian American-based singer, whose real name is Denzel Oluwafemi Adeniyi.
He spoke while reacting to the successful remix of Wizkid’s song, “Essence”, in which the Nigerian singer recently featured an American A-list Grammy-award winning artist, Justin Bieber. The father of three has, however, featured one of Nigeria’s talented singers, Tems, before this remix.
The American singer Bieber took to his official Instagram page to thank WizKid for letting him be on the remix, writing with a caption, “Thank u for letting me jump on the song of the summer. Essence remix out now.”
And Shizem, in a recent interview, talked about Wizkid saying, “Wizkid is Africa’s heritage and biggest music export.
“His craft has no doubt paved the way for him on the global stage and I have never been more proud to be of the same tribe, and from the same country.
“He creates space and also gives inspiration for young African talents like us”
Shizem also said that his coming single will feature one of Nigeria’s biggest Afrobeat star, Although he is not ready to reveal his name till the song is out.
He, however, said he hopes the new song, when released, makes as much impression as possible.
He said he can’t wait for the fans to see it.
