18 new commissioners have been sworn in as members of the Rivers State Executive Council by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.
Chris Finebone, who recently switched to the Peoples Democratic Party, is one of the recently appointed commissioners. He served as the state’s APC’s immediate past publicity secretary.
The executive council was disbanded in May of this year. A few of the former commissioners also made the list.
Wike emphasized to the incoming cabinet members that his administration was determined to finish strong and make a proper transfer to his successor.
He gave the State Executive Council members instructions to recommit to their jobs and get the desired results.
The governor stated that certain former State Executive Council members didn’t understand the magnitude of the work assigned to them and instead resorted to sycophancy while ignoring their responsibilities.
Wike emphasised the importance of a smooth transition to the incoming administration in a timely manner. So that the reports might be submitted on time, he gave the existing cabinet members and the incoming commissioners the order to start gathering the necessary data.
The commissioners Princewill Chike, Jacobson Nbina, Ndubuisi Okere, Inime Aguma, Charles Amadi, Tonye Briggs, Ben Daminabo, Chris Finebone, and Austin Chioma were sworn in.
Others include Emeka Onowu, Kaniye Ebeku, Ezekiel Agri, Ukiel Oyaghiri, Damiete Miller, Uchechukwu Nwafor, Fred Kpakol, Emenike Oke, Prince Ohia, Kaniye Ebeku, and Ezekiel Agri.
Tammy Danagogo, the secretary to the state government, will assign them portfolios, according to Wike.
