Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, has purportedly taken possession of the Legacy 600 plane that Rotimi Amaechi allegedly abandoned in Germany in 2012.
Wike had reported the finding of the aircraft in January of this year, stating that Amaechi had ditched the aircraft in the European nation without proper documents.
After Amaechi took over administration of the state, in 2012, the aircraft that had been purchased by the Peter Odili administration in 2003 reportedly became untraceable.
It wasn’t until January of this year that Wike announced the aircraft’s discovery at the General Atomics Aerotec, an aircraft servicing company in Munich, Germany.
At around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, a reception was held at the international terminal of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa.
After explaining how the aircraft was found and recovered, Wike was joined by a few state authorities for an inspection.
