Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has visited the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, at his residence in Abuja.
The visit is coming after Atiku visited Wike in his Abuja residence earlier in the week.
Atiku, had visited Wike after defeating him at the PDP presidential primary held in Abuja on Saturday.
After the meeting Wike travelled back to Rivers State, only to return back on Wednesday to Abuja to visit Atiku.
Speaking on the visit in a statement on Facebook, Atiku said, “It was a pleasure to receive His Excellency Nyesom Wike in the company of notable leaders and officials of our great party, the PDP, at my residence today.
“I am proud of the promises that this spirit of camaraderie holds for our party as a united front that guarantees victory in the next election to rescue the country.”
There are speculations that Wike meeting with Atiku may not be unconnected with the move to have him as Atiku’s vice president.
