Nigerian Army says its troops will repeat the same action they took at the Lekki tollgate if they find themselves under the same situation again.
Soldiers had fired gunshots to disperse #EndSARS protesters who had converged on the tollgate for about two weeks.
The incident had triggered an international outrage and condemnation, just as a controversy is now raging over the alleged killing of some of the protesters by the soldiers.
But the Army has insisted that soldiers only fired blank bullets to disperse the protesters who were out on the streets and enforce the curfew imposed by the Lagos State Government.
Commander of the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, Brig Gen Ibrahim Taiwo, while testifying on Saturday before the panel set up to probe the incident, said that the soldiers would act in the manner they did on October 20 if they found themselves under the same situation.
