Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has called on the electorate to vote for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his unique qualities.
He made the call at the All Progressives Congress, Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council (APC-ICC) retreat organised for officials and members at the International Conference Center, Abuja.
According to the immediate past governor of Nasarawa State, “I am privileged to be Chairman of Support groups and NGOs Directorate at the APC-ICC. As an official, I know that campaign cannot succeed without the backing of the media, our stakeholders should campaign by sensitizing the electorates with what Tinubu has done when he was the Executive Governor of Lagos State and uptil now as a unique selling point.
“The past record of Tinubu is the best thing that can happen for the success of our party. This is a campaign for the people in the grassroots and not only for the big men.
“Asiwaju is a talented, excellent, cosmopolitan, versatile person who knows about economic, social and cultural existence.
“He is a visionary, reliable, defender of democracy, identifying and uplifting many talents, he has fought for democratic rule at the expense of his life within and while on exile and maintains national values.
“Tinubu believes that anything that he is worth doing, is worth doing well. He targets excellence, is cosmopolitan and versatile about economic, social and cultural ideals.”
Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Solid Minerals, said, “The running mate of Asiwaju Tinubu, Senator Kashim Shettima Mustapha has been a fearless leader. He didn’t run away to leave his people because of the fear of the armed conflict by Boko Haram when he was the Governor of Borno State.
“I assure Nigerians that Tinubu and Shettima will add value to the growth and development of Nigeria in a democratic platform.
“As Chairman of Support Groups and NGOs. We will do everything possible according to the law to make APC win. We have to work with many political and non political groups like artisans amongst others to vote for Tinubu and Shettima and other candidates.” Said Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura.
In his speech, Honourable Ali Silas Agara, who is the National Coordinator of APC-ICC said, “The council is a team of Nigerians from all walks of life who have the zeal to develop the country through democratic process.
” As members of the APC which has wrestled power from a then ruling PDP and relegates it to opposition, we will continue maintaining the status-quo by giving the dividend of democracy to all Nigerians.
” We are going to the grassroots to canvass for votes by showing the electorates achievements of the party, capacity of our Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima Mustapha and other candidates of the party.”
In his remarks, frontline Politician and former Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh said, ” I contested and lost election. President Shehu Shagari called me and made me a Minister at a young age.
“Former Presdent Lula Da Silva of Brazil has defeated an incumbent President Bolsanaro despite being older.
“Age is not a factor as Asiwaju Tinubu and Senator Shettima have all done well when they were Governors and will continue do so as President and Vice President respectively.”
The former governor of Bauchi State, Alhaji Isa Yuguda, said, “I have managed banks, was a Minister and Governor. I assure the electorate that we will experience growth and development if we vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima and candidates of the APC.”
In his remarks, Mr Obono Obla said, “APC stakeholders should go to the grassroots, frankly, objectively, firmly and truthfully tell Nigerians that the party has done so much in the interest of continuity and sustainment of the party, they should vote for Asiwaju Tinubu and Shettima.
“These two leaders are patriotic, performers and competent to lead the country. They will consolidate what the present leadership has done.”
