Martins Otse, fondly called VeryDarkMan, has disclosed how he obtained a contentious phone recording involving popular cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky.
He made this revelation on the 30th of September, 2024, during his appearance before a House of Representatives panel probing allegations of bribery against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).
Officials from the EFCC and the NCoS were also present as the committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions commenced their inquiry into the bribery and corruption accusations made by the blogger against both agencies.
Initially, VeryDarkMan expressed his reluctance to address the panel in Bobrisky’s absence who was invited but sent his lawyer instead. However, the lawmakers rejected his stance and passed a motion compelling him to speak on the audio recording he had made public.
Despite the panel’s threats to invoke its legislative powers and order his arrest, VeryDarkMan remained firm, stating that his lawyer would represent him.
He explained that the controversial recording was obtained from an individual to whom Bobrisky owed money.
Recall that In a widely circulated video, VeryDarkMan alleged that Bobrisky paid N15 million to the anti-graft agency to drop money laundering charges against him during a naira-spraying incident in April, which resulted in a court sentencing Bobrisky to six months in prison.
He further claimed that Bobrisky paid additional millions to secure preferential treatment while incarcerated.
