In a fresh update on the 2025 Visa Waiver Program (VWP), the United States has unveiled its list of eligible countries, bringing both surprises and notable revisions.
A striking change is the removal of the United Kingdom from the program, though British ttravellers may still qualify under specific conditions. Meanwhile, Africa’s major nations Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa are noticeably absent from the list.
One of the most significant adjustments is Romania’s addition, marking a milestone in the country’s travel relations with the U.S. However, for the most part, the VWP lineup remains unchanged
As outlined by the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs, the program permits travelers from qualifying countries to visit the U.S. for tourism or business for up to 90 days without the hassle of securing a visa.

The agency emphasized, “Travelers must have a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval prior to travel and meet all requirements explained below.
If you prefer to have a visa in your passport, you may still apply for a visitor visa.”
