Unknown gunmen kill Ogun West Senator Yayi’s aide in Lagos

Unknown gunmen, on Saturday, in Lagos, shot dead Mr Adeniyi Sanni, a senior aide to Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West), Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation.

Sanni was killed by the unknown gunmen in an unclear circumstance in the early hours of Saturday.

It was learnt that Sanni was earlier stopped at a checkpoint around the Berger Area of Lagos while on his way to his home at Isheri by some security agents, who asked him to produce his vehicle particulars.

He was said to have immediately contacted his wife on the phone to do the screenshot of the documents and send them to him on his WhatsApp.

His wife was said to have done that promptly and after some time, she called her husband who told her the security agents were still checking the vehicle particulars.

Later, Sanni’s wife made frantic phone calls to her husband’s friends to inform them that she could no longer reach him on his phone.

Sanni’s friends were said to have immediately raised a search party.

But an unknown person was said to have later called Sanni’s wife to inform her that her husband’s bullet-riddled corpse had been dumped around Toyota Bus-stop along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.

The unknown caller was said to have used the next of kin phone number on Sanni’s driver’s licence to contact his wife.

The shocking news of the killing of Sanni, who had been his aide for over 20 years, was said to have devastated
Senator Adeola, who is currently involved in the ongoing screening of ministerial nominees forwarded to the Senate by President Bola Tinubu for confirmation.
