The Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council expressed optimism that, if elected in 2023, an Obi-Datti-led LP administration will bring wealth to Northern Nigeria, which is currently home to the majority of the country’s poor people.
Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the campaign’s chief spokesperson, made this statement while participating in a live radio program on Bright FM in Abuja.
According to Tanko, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate, who previously held the office of governor of Anambra State for two terms, is devoted to permanently altering the country of Nigeria’s history.
He claims that the candidate and his group of patriotic supporters are determined to focus their efforts on aggressive agricultural production and agro-allied businesses in order to lift the population out of poverty despite the fact that they are aware of the enormous agricultural potentials in northern Nigeria.
Tanko added that in order to generate the crucial foreign cash for the development of the country, Obi will not only concentrate on agricultural output but also ensure value addition prior to export.
He noted that the LP has begun engaging and recruiting volunteers who will work around the clock to ensure that results of the total votes cast in each polling booth are communicated to the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) server before the polls close.
According to him, the volunteers which he describes aa cell ‘soldiers’, “…will be stationed at each Polling booth all over the country and would be willing to stay untill the result is announced and transmitted to INEC server.“
He claimed that in order to prevent the “Take back Nigeria Project” from being hijacked by moneybags, the Labour Party was tightening its systems and funding choices.
This, he said, was among the factors that led to the choice to adopt the crowdfund option.
In addition to saying that no one with decent financial means could fund a political campaign alone, Tanko called crowdsourcing one of the most civilized methods of financing political campaigns.
