Umahi: Tinubu’s Presidency Is God’s Will to Reset Nigeria

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has expressed his belief that President Bola Tinubu’s leadership is divinely ordained to guide Nigeria through a transformative period.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Thursday, Umahi emphasized that Tinubu’s administration is committed to improving the lives of Nigerian citizens despite the challenging economic conditions it inherited.

Umahi visited Bauchi to extend his sympathies to the governor and the people of the state following a devastating flood that claimed seven lives, destroyed homes, and washed away roads.

During his visit, he highlighted the administration’s efforts to address the country’s numerous challenges, urging Nigerians to support and pray for the president.

“We don’t have any other country, and I want to ask for your support and that of the Bauchi people to support him,” Umahi said.

He acknowledged the concerns some had during the election campaign, particularly regarding the Muslim-Muslim ticket in the South-East, but reiterated his belief that Tinubu’s presidency is “the will of God to come and reset the nation and retake our nation.”

The Minister praised Tinubu for making “wide and courageous decisions,” which he admitted may not yet be fully understood by some citizens.

Drawing an analogy to treating a sick patient, Umahi explained that immediate action is sometimes necessary before the full extent of the problem is clear. He described Tinubu as a technocrat who is well-versed in the complexities of the nation’s issues.

“He is doing a lot to alleviate the sufferings of the people. When you talk about cash transfers and student loans, the CNG answers to the needs of our energy,” Umahi noted, referring to the government’s efforts to support vulnerable populations and address energy concerns.

In addition to these initiatives, Umahi highlighted Tinubu’s impact on security and infrastructure, particularly in the North-East, a region that has felt neglected in the past.

“Yes, the North-East has been saying that they were shortchanged but the President is set to change the narratives,” he assured.

The Minister’s visit and remarks come at a time when the Tinubu administration is under scrutiny as it works to implement policies aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s economy and improving the overall well-being of its citizens.
