Two die, one injured in Ogun auto crash

Two perons have died in a multiple auto crash that occurred on Friday around Toll-Gate, Otta on the Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway corridor of Ogun State.

One person also sustained varying degrees of injuries from the accident.

The crash involved a white colour Volvo trailer with registration number: T-14223LA, a yellow colour Volkswagen with registration number: KRD132XX, and two red colour Bajaj boxers motorcycles, one with registration: LAR178VL and the other with registration number: PKA873VS

Spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps(FRSC) Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta on Friday.

Okpe said that the cause of the fatal crash was wrongful overtaking and excessive speed on the part of the truck driver which led to collision on other vehicles.

She said three persons( two males and one female, were involved in the accident, one male was injured and the remaining two( one male and one female) died

The superintendent route commander said that the two corpses have been deposited at Ifo General Hospital Morgue.

Sector Commander, CC Anthony Uga cautioned motorists to always drive defensively by considering other vehicles on the road.

Uga also emphasized that drivers should always maintain the required speed limit while driving.
