Trump’s Victory Shows Power of Rising After Every Fall — Atiku

Former Nigerian Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated the United States on the conclusion of its presidential election, commending the democratic process that led to Republican Donald Trump’s historic victory over incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris.

In a statement, Atiku praised the American electorate, noting that their dedication to democracy and the integrity of the ballot had underscored the power of the people’s voice.

He lauded Trump’s win as a “lesson in resilience” and a symbol of democratic strength worldwide.

“The victory of President Donald J. Trump and the Republican Party reflects the vitality of the democratic process and stands as an inspiring story of courage and tenacity,” Atiku stated.

“His return, marked by trials and triumphs, is a lesson in the art of rising after every fall.”

Atiku’s message extended beyond congratulation. He urged President-elect Trump to advocate for credible elections globally, including in Nigeria, and to confront anti-democratic forces.

According to Atiku, Trump’s victory underscores the integrity of democratic processes, which he sees as a crucial lesson for Nigeria’s electoral landscape.

Atiku also used this occasion to reflect on his own political journey, highlighting a history of perseverance similar to Trump’s.

Having contested multiple Nigerian presidential elections, including as a candidate for the Action Congress in 2007 and for the PDP in 2019 and 2023, Atiku has been a prominent voice in Nigeria’s political sphere.

In closing, Atiku shared his hopes that Trump’s administration would champion fair and transparent elections worldwide, offering Nigerians a renewed sense of optimism for their own electoral system.

He also congratulated the American people, stating, “The world has once again witnessed the true might of the people’s voice.”
