President Donald Trump is promising “a very big and exciting day” for both the United States and the United Kingdom, as the two countries prepare to announce a major trade agreement.
Trump took to social media on Thursday, declaring that the long-anticipated deal would mark a significant step in the strengthening of transatlantic relations.
On his Truth Social account, Trump wrote, “This should be a very big and exciting day for the United States of America and the United Kingdom.
Press Conference at The Oval Office, 10 A.M. Thank you!” He followed up with a message hinting at the deal’s full scope, calling it a “full and comprehensive” agreement that would “cement the relationship between the U.S. and the U.K. for many years to come.”
Reports indicate that the announcement will focus on the “heads of terms,” laying the groundwork for a more comprehensive trade deal in the future.
The agreement is set to be the first significant trade deal to emerge from the Trump administration following the imposition of tariffs earlier this year.
The announcement comes at a time of heightened global attention on U.S. trade relations, following Trump’s aggressive stance on tariffs in April.

His remarks, however, suggest that the U.S.-U.K. trade partnership will serve as a cornerstone of future economic policies.
Downing Street confirmed that U.K. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer would speak about the agreement later in the day, underscoring the importance of the deal to both nations.
“As you know, talks with the U.S. have been ongoing, and you will hear more from me about that later today,” Starmer said in a statement.
The deal is expected to enhance the economic ties between the two nations, marking a high point in their historic relationship.
Both leaders, Trump and Starmer, are scheduled to meet in the Oval Office to discuss the details of the trade arrangement in a press conference set for 10 A.M. local time.
