President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his 2024 Christmas message, extended heartfelt greetings to Christians across Nigeria and the world, emphasizing the themes of love, peace, and unity that the season represents.

In a statement released on December 24, the President reflected on the essence of Christmas as a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, a beacon of hope for people of all faiths.

Condolences Amid Recent Tragedies

Addressing the nation, President Tinubu expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic incidents in Ibadan, Okija, and Abuja, which resulted in the loss of many lives.

“Our thoughts are with those who continue to suffer from these heartbreaking incidents. We earnestly pray that such misfortunes do not revisit our families and communities and that the lives of innocents are never again cut short,” he stated.

He also extended his sympathies to families affected by floods, fires, and other calamities throughout the year, encouraging Nigerians to find solace in their faith and the presence of Christ.

The President called on citizens to show compassion to those in need, reminding them that acts of kindness require no wealth. “Kindness transcends financial status. Those with modest means and those with abundance need a smile or a word of encouragement,” he urged.

As Nigerians journey across the country for Christmas, the President emphasized the government’s efforts to ensure safety and convenience. He highlighted free train services and subsidized road transport on 144 routes nationwide as measures to ease festive travel.
